Alice has once again wowed us with not only her selection to the World Championships in Doha later this year but has also been named Amateur Sportswomen of the Year at the 2018 Birmingham Sports Awards. Now, we could be cool and modest (just like Alice!), but we figured what is the point in that!! So here is a MASSIVE SHOUT OUT to Alice and to Brett, Chris and Jemma, who have all worked so hard to get to this point. Alice’s parents may have helped a little bit too!
There is another side to our ambition, because not only do we want the best gymnasts, we want the best coaches. We are privileged to have such a respected leadership team lead by Chris Still and Chris has recently appointed Ellie Fletcher to the role of Head of Junior Elite.
Ellie like most began as a gymnast but starting her coaching journey aged 12. She is now a graduate and level 3 coach and has joined us full time. Ellie has taken on the added responsibility of the Park Wrekin Leadership Academy which aims to recruit future coaches and officers for the club. There are lots of opportunities to get involved – courses and training are available and anyone over 14 who would like to get involved should speak to Ellie for more information.

BUILDING REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE
New changing room – in the coming weeks we will be opening a new changing room downstairs (adjacent to the ladies) for the gymnasts to change outside of the gym area. This is to help the after school rush and for the younger members who need a little parental assistance.
HOUSE KEEPING & SAFETY
With winter dark nights just around the corner, please be careful outside and always accompany your child in and out of the gym and now its getting colder, please make sure they don’t leave the gym just in their leotards!! Nick has suggested that you might like to bring a torch with you to navigate the car park!
Please DO NOT prop open the door to the gym. Not only is this a security issue we also appear to be attracting local pets into our building.
PARTY & ROOM HIRE
PARK WREKIN birthday parties are very popular with bookings well into next year. We do have limited availability for some Saturdays, so if are planning a gym party please don’t wait to book.
The gym is available for exclusive use for a party or special occasion. Qualified coaches are on hand to guide your guests through the moves and equipment to make sure you are safe and have lots of fun. Dinks Café will also offer catering and a disco to finish the party off. Why not show your friends and family what gymnastics is all about!
